Okay I just finished watching the heavily hyped Iron Man Movie, and guess what it was worth it. I had been following the film since its debut at Comic Con 2006. I had high hopes it would not be another Ghost Rider or Punisher Debacle and I am very happy to say it was not. The movie has a slow steady pace that seems to engulf you in the world of Tony Stark ( Iron Man’s Secret Identity ) You cannot avoid the slow pace without cheating Favreau’s ( John Favreu is the the director of the Movie he also makes a cameo as Stark’s Chauffer ) character development. The movie opens with the presence of a happy go lucky weapon’s genius named Tony Stark. Heck in the opening scene you find out that he has dated all 12 months of Maxim’s cover models..” Wow “
Robert Downey junior who plays Tony Stark does a great Job, its not his best acting job but he makes it enjoyable in fact the strength of the big names cast acting performances is that they do what they need to do, they do not over power the characters.
With a cast of Heavy Hitters like Gweeneth Paltrow , Terrence Stamp etc ..you would think that these big names would only be there for the paycheck. I felt they did not cheat the audience and really contributd to the film witout overwhelming each other or overwhelming the story.
As a comicbook junkie my favorite part of the fiml was the screen play. There were passionate reffrences to Marvel’s history such as S.H.E.I.L.D. and War Machine. The story was intergrated in the modern day conflicts that our world is facing today . But once again the film was thought out smartly it never insults your intelligence just becaise your at a comic book movie. In fact I think Favreau’s genius was he didnt falll into the trap of “too many chiefs not enough indians syndrome”. I got the feel he made the calls himself. Keep in mind I had been following the production and dirction of the film since 2006. The trap of making a good super hero film is not falling into the beurecractic pitfalls that big Movie studios present and than trying to make fan boys happy and finally making no one happy . Bravo John you pulled of the balancing act with a true sense of love and respect for the character.
In short it was great I had a 4 yr old comic book junkie that loved it and a 39 yr old Comic Genius loving it also……
The effects were great but the biggest explosion is the ending..
Enjoy Guys it was fun….
